University welcome event - New members of staff

Induction is an important aspect of the first few months for a new member of staff at the University and there are a number of obligatory training modules that must be completed online. These are available at https://vital.liv.ac.uk/ - and can be accessed under My Courses (University of Liverpool Obligatory Training). A copy of the Obligatory Training Framework can be found in this Vital Site.

In addition to the online modules, we would like to invite new members of staff to a welcome event which is an informal and informative opportunity to meet senior members of the university who will talk about the university as well as its aims and objectives.

Staff will also meet other key individuals who can offer support and advice on many aspects of working life at the university. The event is an invaluable opportunity for you to network with new colleagues who have also recently joined the university.

Dates of future events are:

Tuesday 31 October 2017, 14.00 - 16.00
Friday 16 February 2018, 10.00 - 12.00
Tuesday 12 June 2018, 14.00 - 16.00

Please could you confirm your attendance at the University Welcome Event by logging in to your CoreHR Staff Portal and booking your place on the event via the Training Tab.

We would also encourage all new staff to attend a one hour session on safety, addressed by the University Safety Advisor. Please contact jane.goodwin@liv.ac.uk or phone 0151 794 3243 to find out when the next available date is for this session.

Local induction will be arranged by your department and will provide you with a more focussed understanding of how things work in your area of work.
