September Rail Strikes

Please be aware that there will be industrial action on both the Merseyrail network and Northern services on the 1st, 3rd and 4th of September 2017. No trains will run before 7am (8am on 3rd) and no trains will run after 7pm.

Please be sure to check your route, plan your travel accordingly and account for possible delays or cancellations in services.

Rail strikes on Merseyrail services on Friday 1st September, Sunday 3rd September and Monday 4th September.

Rail strikes for Northern Services on Friday 1st September and Monday 4th September.

Key advice is to stick to public transport wherever possible to reduce congestion on key routes such as the Mersey Tunnels and roads in and out of the City Centre. Bus may be a good alternative on strike day, with an extensive network across the Liverpool City Region. Cycling may also be an option and UoL staff and students receive citybike discount or for staff wanting a more permanent option, please sign up to the Cycle to Work scheme. If you have no option but to drive, please consider car sharing.

Please see the University's Travel Solutions pages for more information on alternative methods of transport.
