ERC Synergy Grant briefing

Registration is now open for the second of two ERC Synergy Grant Call 2018 information sessions in September.

In partnership with the University of Liverpool, UKRO is holding an event for researchers who are interested in applying for the 2018 ERC Synergy Grant call at the University of Liverpool on Wednesday 27 September 2017.

Aim of the Session
The session will provide participants with a detailed practical overview of the ERC Synergy Grant scheme. Participants should gain a deeper understanding of the proposal format and the key issues they are required to address in planning, writing and costing a proposal. There will also be ample opportunity to ask questions. Attendance will be free of charge, but registration is required.

Who should attend?
The sessions are aimed at researchers based in, or moving to, the UK who are planning to submit a proposal to the ERC Synergy Grant call. The 2018 Synergy Grant call opened on 3 August 2017 and will close on 14 November 2017. Applicants are expected to be active researchers and to have a track record of excellent research.

To be eligible for the 2018 call, the application for a Synergy Grant should be made by 2-4 Principal Investigators with complementary skills, knowledge and resources, in order to jointly address ambitious research problems. Principal Investigators must demonstrate the synergies, complementarities and added-value that could lead to breakthroughs that would not otherwise be possible if the individual Principal Investigators worked alone.

Places for this event will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Programme outline
The event at the University of Liverpool on 27 September will start at 14:00 and finish by 17:00 (with registration from 13:30). Further information on the venue will be provided to delegates once they have registered.
