Participants needed: Brain activity during a gambling task

We are looking for healthy volunteers to participate in a research study investigating brain activity during risky decision-making. We require female and male participants, aged 18-35 years, fluent in English, not suffering from any neurological (such as epilepsy) and/or psychiatric disorders. You will receive compensation for your participation to cover your travel expenses and time, plus more if you are lucky in a gambling task.

If you decide to take part, we will arrange a time that suits you to complete the experiment. You will be asked to complete a simple gambling task during which you will decide whether you want to accept or reject a series of gambles associated with 50% chance of winning or losing variable amounts of money. During the task, we will be recording your brain activity using EEG (electroencephalography), whereby an elastic mesh cap with sponge electrodes will be placed on your head.

More details of the experiment can be found in the information sheet, which will be provided upon request. This study has been approved by the University of Liverpool Ethics committee.
