Autumn Careers Fairs - 17 & 18 October

For many students careers fairs might seem to come along too early in the year, when you've only just enrolled on your course, or have just returned to university after the summer break and aren't really thinking about jobs and graduate careers yet.

It could be that you want to focus on you studies or university life, or maybe just think there's no point attending a careers fair that's advertising roles that won't start until summer 2019.

You might not realise it, but one of the main reasons that they are so early in the year is that many of the graduate, placement, and summer internship schemes have already started to accept applications and will be closed by Christmas – with some of the most popular having deadlines in October.

So if you are looking to apply for one of these roles then attending a Careers Fair is a great way to find out more about the opportunities available, the recruitment process, and to pick up tips directly from recruiters on what they look for in applicants.

There are two big Careers Fairs taking place at the University of Liverpool this month, with over 120 recruiters visiting the campus over two days to meet students from all degree courses and years of study.

The Liverpool Business Finance and Law Careers Fair is taking on Wednesday 17th October, with the Liverpool Science, Engineering & Technology Careers Fair taking place the following day on Thursday 18th October.

Both events take place from 10.30am – 3.30pm in the Crypt Hall of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, accessed via the entrance on Brownlow Hill.

One other thing you may not be aware of is that over 70% of the opportunities being promoted to students over the two days will be open to students from any course, so it's well worth coming along as you might just be surprised by the roles that you will be able to apply for.

So, whether you're looking for a paid internship, year in industry placement or graduate job, this is a great opportunity to meet face to face with some of the UK's leading employers at the start of the recruitment season.
