Pedagogic Research Conference

Registrations are now open for the 5th Pedagogic Research Conference, which will take place in the Foresight Centre on 16 January 2020. The theme for the upcoming conference is 'Engaging Students in their Learning'.

The Pedagogic Research Conference has become an increasingly popular event in the University calendar as it provides an exciting opportunity to collaborate, build networks and share emerging scholarship with peers from across the institution and beyond.

At the conference there will be editors and representatives from a range of academic journals answering questions about publishing opportunities, as well as a host of presentations from staff across the University detailing their pedagogic research projects aligned with the theme 'Engaging Students in their Learning'.

In addition, there will be an expert panel of University staff offering advice on scholarship, achieving impact, and publishing your pedagogical research.

Last year, attendees reported they went on to submit their papers to academic journals and become reviewers through the contacts they made at the conference.

The conference is open to all staff and is being supported by Professor Gavin Brown, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education; Dr James Howard, Director of the Academy; and Dr Simon Thomson, Director of the Centre for Innovation in Education. The keynote speaker is confirmed as Dr Camille Kandiko Howson, Associate Professor of Education at Imperial College London, who will be sharing her research related to 'Engaging Students in their Learning: Voice, Partnership and Co-Creation'.
