EPSRC IAA funding call- Deadline 20th January 2020

We are pleased to announce that EPSRC have this week informed us that we have successfully secured an extension to the EPSRC IAA to start 1st April 2020 and end 31st March 2021, and over the course of the year will be offering Exploration (April, June, September), Proof of Concept (April) and Secondment Awards (April, June, September). We have opened up a funding call for applications to EPSRC IAA for the following awards:

• 3 x Exploration awards up to a value of £15K which are intended to move EPSRC research towards generating impact cases such as making prototypes, getting market data, developing policy, feasibility studies etc.

• 4 x Proof of Concept awards up to a value of £40K. Outputs are expected to be at the level of a new spin-out company, new or exploited IP, a strategic partnership or significant further investment (Innovate UK grant or similar). IAA: Proof of Concept Awards require significant, clearly defined, partner match such as cash, services or in-kind contributions.

• Secondment awards up to the value of £40K for 12 weeks to 12-month secondments of researchers into external organisations to develop the level of interaction with partners and accelerate the impact outcomes from EPSRC funded grants.

EPSRC IAA funding will end 31st March 2021, and so projects must be completed and all funds spent by 31st March 2021, therefore all proof of concept awards must be starting 1st April 2020. The deadline for applications to the EPSRC IAA is midday Monday 20th January 2020 with the panel review being held week commencing 27th January 2020 December with successful candidates being notified week commencing 3rd February 2020.

Applications should be uploaded to the online platform Crowdicity no later than midday Monday 20th January 2020 – if you would like to apply and not already registered to Crowdicity please contact me directly and I will set you up onto the system.
