Canvas Fundamentals workshops - register now!

If you are considering using the new virtual learning environment to support your teaching during the 2020/21 academic year, then you should book a place on a Canvas Fundamentals workshop now.

These hour-long workshops will be running up to three times a week between March and July, so hopefully you will be able to find a session that's convenient for you.

Please click here for details on workshops running between March and May. Further sessions will be confirmed soon.

Each workshop will cover the following topics:

- Canvas fundamentals: including terminology, organising content, changing how things look, discussion forums and assessment

- VITAL content migration: what happens to your existing course content when it is migrated from VITAL into Canvas

- Canvas tools and features: including the Canvas Mobile App, Canvas Studio, groupwork, and third-party plug-ins

- Support: via Tier 1 and on-campus

You will need to bring your own devices to connect to Canvas during this workshop. So please make sure that you bring your laptop, tablet or smart phone with you.

Bookings for each workshop are limited by room size. As demand is likely to be high, we recommend that you reserve your place as soon as you can.

In addition to this centrally-manged programme of workshops, local sessions may be offered by TEL support staff in your area. Please contact your local TEL staff direct for more information.

To make sure that you get the most out of this workshop, you should complete your Canvas Fundamentals online training first. These self-paced learning resources are available now in Canvas. To access them, simply log on and click on the tiles entitled 'Canvas Help for Staff' and 'Growing with Canvas'. You may also want to watch these short tutorials on the Canvas at Liverpool intranet site.
